Stacking is the easiest way to make simple jewellery look personal. You don't need a big collection – just a few pieces that work together. Here are our favourite, no-fuss ideas for stacking rings, layering necklaces and building a bracelet stack.
The golden rule: mix one statement with simple pieces
Every good stack has one piece that stands out and a few that support it. Pick your "hero" – a stone ring, a pendant or a chunky bangle – then add slimmer, plainer pieces around it. That way the stack looks intentional, not crowded.
How to stack rings
- Start with a plain band. A simple ring like our Join Ring is the perfect base.
- Add one detail ring. A flower or stone ring such as the Daisy Ring gives the stack a focal point.
- Play with texture and colour. A twisted or coloured band like the Croissant Ring adds interest.
- Spread them out. Two rings on one finger and one on another often looks more balanced than three on a single finger.
Not sure about sizes? Adjustable rings fit most fingers and are ideal for stacking. For a snug fit, see our sized rings and the Ring Size Guide.
How to layer necklaces
- Vary the lengths. Leave about 5cm between each necklace so they don't tangle and each one can be seen.
- Shortest first, then pendants. Start with a fine chain close to the neck, then add a pendant like the Round Zircon Necklace or Teardrop Pendant Necklace.
- Mix chain styles. A bead chain with a charm, like our Star and North Star bead chains, looks great next to a smooth chain.
- Collect charms. Charm necklaces are made for layering – pick two or three that mean something to you.
How to build a bracelet stack
- Combine a bangle and a chain. A hammered bangle like the Sta Bangle next to a fine chain bracelet is an easy everyday stack.
- Add a little sparkle. A zircon piece like the Sparkle Pavé Bangle or Clover Bracelet catches the light.
- Try a layered look in one piece. The Heart Layered Bracelet gives you two layers in a single bracelet.
- Go further with a hand chain. A hand chain links your bracelet stack to your rings for a finished look.
Don't forget your ears
The "curated ear" is stacking for earrings. Start with a stud or small hoop in your first hole, then add a dangling charm like the Lila Charm Piercing and a curved stud like the Aster Curved Piercing in your cartilage or helix. Browse all piercings.
Gold, silver or both?
Mixing metals is completely fine – the trick is to repeat each colour at least twice so it looks deliberate. A gold stack with one silver piece can look like a mistake; two gold and two silver looks styled.
